The problem with my current monitor is that I constantly get eye strain due to it's bad resolution. After watching Atila's Live, I've noticed that the lockdown will not end soon enough, so I've decided to get myself a new monitor.
My intuition guided me to 4K displays, all I wanted was a display somewhat similar to the retina resolution on MacBooks and iPad Pro's. After some hours of research, I've realized 2 things, 4K displays are very expensive, 4K displays are not retina.
In order to have a retina resolution, you need to have more than 300ppi, which most displays don't. In fact, the majority of 4K screens that could potentially be retina have huge sizes like 31" making the resulting resolution bad.
To find the best monitor (and to finally stop looking for a new one) I've created myself some constraints
After creating those constraints my research was much more pleasurable.
At first I've decided to go with this one
A monitor that supports Vesa 400 and is retina in just 21 inches away.
But then, when I was closing the cart, fastshop reported that monitor is out of stock. So I went with a similar model, the LG 27UL500 (Yeah, I don't understand why so complicated names) which seemed to be the same panel but with less brightness, height ajustments and VESA 4000, but everything was the same, resolution, contrast ratio, color gamic, everything.
